The Hector Heritage Quay offers visitors the unique opportunity to step aboard a tall ship and experience what life was like for the Hector settlers. Explore the early history of Nova Scotia through the Ship Hector, sometimes referred to as “Canada’s Mayflower” as it brought some of the first Scottish settlers directly from Scotland to Mi'k'ma'ki. Discover the story of these early Hector settlers, the hardships they overcame and how the Indigenous community was instrumental in their survival. Open seasonally from May to October.
